The Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution guarantees individuals the right to personal autonomy, which means that a person's decisions regarding his or her personal life are none of the government's business. That right, which is part of the right to privacy, encompasses decisions about parenthood, including a woman's right to decide for herself whether to complete or terminate a pregnancy, as well as the right to use contraception, freedom from forced sterilization and freedom from employment discrimination based on childbearing capacity.

American Civil Liberties Union of Florida

Planned Parenthood believes in the fundamental right of each individual, throughout the world, to manage his or her fertility, regardless of the individual's income, marital status, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or residence. We believe that respect and value for diversity in all aspects of our organization are essential to our well-being. We believe that reproductive self-determination must be voluntary and preserve the individual's right to privacy. We further believe that such self-determination will contribute to an enhancement of the quality of life and strong family relationships.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America

Today, The Susan B. Komen Foundation announced it is halting its partnership with Planned Parenthood affiliates because of a policy change that prevents the organization from funding organizations that are currently under investigation.

Planned Parenthood is currently the focus of an investigation launched by Rep. Cliff Stearns of Florida to determine if public money was improperly spent on abortions.

Komen Foundation, once more you disappoint us. Stop playing politics with real women's lives.
